A Girl Can Change Her Mind: Making It Official with Simple Business Cards

August 7, 2018

I’ve always believed in the mantra a girl has the right to change her mind. We aren’t locked in to every choice we make (thank the Lord), and we get to shape our lives in the way that’s best for the season we’re in. If we can make our dreams, then we can remake them too, and that, girlfriend, gives me a lot of hope. This is especially true in our career fields. Certainly there are more opportunities than ever before for women to reimagine our work. No longer are we constricted to the 40-hour work week in the office. Now, companies are allowing remote work and 4-day workweeks for both men and women, and are finding that productivity is actually increasing! I have loved interviewing creative and entrepreneurial women over the last year on the blog who have ventured out into their own businesses, completely redefining what work looks like for them. They inspire me so much!

As many of you know, my career path has evolved from full-time marketing director to part-time remote manager, and most recently to freelance writer and independent consultant with Arbonne. If you’ve had a hard time keeping up, let me just say, me too! As twisty and turny as it’s been, I’ve been so fortunate to recreate my work/life balance with things that bring me joy: writing and relationships.

Last month, I worked with Basic Invite—a stationery company for all our biggest life moments—on a simple business card for my Arbonne business. The design lover in me appreciated the gorgeous templates and nearly unlimited color options with instant online previews. Once I selected the template, I was able to change the color of each individual design stroke on the card (not just select from prefab color templates) which was so fun and sets Basic Invite apart. Basic Invite also has the option of mailed custom samples on any order. I was unsure of whether to order the double-thick paper (I’m a sucker for good paper, y’all) and could have held a sample in my hand which is a real benefit. I ended up going with the standard weight and am so pleased by how it turned out.

In the end, I chose a simple business card in a modern chevron design with blush tones on the front. I also selected an Appointment template for the back where I can write the date, time, and location of coffees with friends and customers. Love that I could use that free real estate on the back of the card!

Aside from their simple and realtor business cards, Basic Invite has a wide array of choices of stationery, invitations, even holiday photo cards! Christmas is coming, gang. Their customizable wedding websites are impressive, too. Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. Let me know what you order!

Thank you so much, Basic Invite, for sponsoring this blog post!
